Lentz is BMF, a pioneering DJ and producer from
Florida's burgeoning dance and hip hop scenes. A veteran dj of 12
years, BMF has earned fans all over the world with his unique mix
of hip hop, soul and jazzy beats. He co-founded the Phat-N-Jazzy
club night in 1994, which remains one of the longest running and
most successful nights of it's kind in the U.S. The night draws
large crowds weekly to hear BMF and his impressive
roster of guests. DJ's Spinna, Cut Chemist, Peanut Butter Wolf,
Prince Paul, King Britt, and Touche are just a few of the turntabilists
that have played at the Orlando weekly.
As a producer and part of the Eighth Dimension collective, BMF
and cohorts Pimp Daddy Nash and Q-Burn's Abstract Message put Orlando
on the the underground map with compilations (Mixed Emotions and
Selected Material) and numerous 12" singles. Besides Eighth
Dimension, BMF has produced music for New York's
New Breed label and San Francisco based Mephisto Records and recorded
mixed CD's for Internal Bass (Boneshakers Vol.2) and New Breed (Jumbo
Pack Vol.3). In the year 2000, he hooked up with rapper Swamburger
and the two brought their brand of conscious hip hop to the table
with a couple of limited releases and were featured on DJ Spinna's
critically-acclaimed Beat Suite compilation.
